We realize it can be very intimidating to walk into a CrossFit gym for the first time. We have ALL been in those shoes. The classes at CF28 are very beginner friendly as the gym is fairly new. These first couple months at CF28 are not only for beginners to CrossFit or those that have been on the couch for a few months/years. More time will be spent on instructing the movements but the actual workouts are still typical strength work and CrossFit style workouts. If you just finished a marathon or can squat 500+ pounds, CF28 will still improve your fitness.
How do I get started?
All new members will need to attend the CrossFit Foundations Course prior to attending any regular classes. This is a course that teaches all the basic movements of CrossFit. The course is held every Saturday from 8 - 10:30am at CrossFit Alexandria. Click here for more info. The classes are able to move at a faster pace when everyone had gained a general understanding of the movements by first attending the Foundations Course.
How much does it cost?
There is an initial sign up fee of $85 which covers the Foundations Course. The monthly fee is $120. Your first month will be prorated if you start after the first week of the month. What are the class times?
Classes will be held Monday thru Friday at 5:30am, 6:30am, 8:30 am, noon, 4:30pm and 5:30pm (no 4:30pm class on Thursday). CF28 members will also have membership at CrossFit Alexandria. Click here for a schedule of CFA. You must attend the Foundation Course prior to attending classes.
Can I attend CF28 sometimes and other times go to CrossFit Alexandria?
Sure. We want everyone to have access and experience both locations. We just ask that you attend Foundations prior to going to a regular class at either location.
Should I be in shape before starting CrossFit?
The only way to get in shape for CrossFit is to do CrossFit. Over half the folks that start CrossFit have not been on a regular workout program prior to attending. Many have never worked out in their life. Some who start have great cardiovascular endurance but no strength and others starting out are strong as a horse but get winded after running 200m. Whatever your level of fitness might be, CrossFit has something for you. We will improve your cardio, strength, flexibility, power, speed, balance and agility.
