CrossFit 28 provides a welcoming experience for those looking to truly get fit. CF 28 caters to all fitness levels ranging from the beginner to the elite athlete. Fathers, mothers, athletes, grandparents and kids...you can find them all at CF 28. The inclusive community provides an atmosphere for you to not only flourish at overall health but also in your life outside of the gym!
Crossfit 28 offers workouts in small group settings at various times throughout the day. Every work out of the day (WOD) is instructed by a Crossfit Coach, so each individual never feels lost. A typical class begins with mobility and flexibility work followed by a review of the movements to be performed in the WOD. Once the class is prepped for the exercises, the WOD begins with the common CrossFit countdown of 3-2-1 GO!. The total class generally last 1 hour. We have found this to be the optimal length to maximize your fitness level. A nice side benefit is that the class duration provides time for you to get back to your family, friends, work, and life.
Principles of CrossFit
The aim of CrossFit has been to build a program that would best prepare individuals for any physical contingency—prepare them not only for the unknown but for the unknowable. Our specialty is not specializing.
CrossFit workouts follow three principles - constantly varied, high intensity, and functional movement. Constantly varied (video [wmv] [mov]) aspects of training provide the body a stimulus which elevates fitness in a way that monotonous routines can not. Functional movements (video [wmv] [mov]) are natural, efficient and safe. They put the human body in positions we were designed to be in. Functional movements and exercises do not force our bodies into unusual positions as do many modern day fitness machines. Intensity (video [wmv] [mov]) is the secret that makes CrossFit programming successful. It is the key to results.
The most important aspects of any fitness program are safety, efficiency and efficacy. These aspects must be measurable, observable and repeatable. CrossFit provides this “evidence based fitness”. Our program provides a broad, general and inclusive fitness program.
